National Trilateral Social-Economy Council
National Trilateral Socio-Economic Council (hereinafter National Council) is a consultatory organ under the President of Ukraine, which consists of the representatives from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, all-Ukrainian trade unions and their associations, all-Ukrainian associations of employers’ organizations (hereinafter the Parties of social dialog).
National Council in its activity is governed by the Constitution and the legislation of Ukraine, acts of the President of Ukraine, and those of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as well as by its Statute.
National Council carries out its activity on the bases of equality and parity of the parties of social dialog; of the openness, voluntarily and constructability of social dialog; of the priority of conciliatory procedures and compromise decisions; of the obligation to observe the attained agreements and of the performance of the accepted decisions.
National Council is headed by three со-chairmen, who coordinate the parties of social dialog. Со-chairmen organize the activity of National Council and together with the other parties of social dialog they determine the direction of its activity.
On August 15, 2007, Executive Vice-President of Ukraine Confederation of Employers, the member of which is Federation of Metallurgists of Ukraine, Oleksiy V. Miroshnychenko was appointed to the position of со-chairman by President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko.
The basic tasks of National Council are:

to assist the coordination of the positions of social dialog parties regarding the ways of further development of socio-economic and labor relations, making the agreements to regulate such relations;

to develop and to submit proposals to the President of Ukraine as to the formation and realization of the state socio-economic policy.
