Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is the supreme representative organ of Ukraine. Its jurisdiction is to perform legislative activity.

In the field of social relations in obedience to the Constitution of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine:

• passes laws;
• approves the State budget of Ukraine and amends it, controls the realization of the State budget of Ukraine;
• determines the principles of the domestic and international policy;
• approves the national programs of economic, scientific and technical, social, national and cultural development as well as those of environmental protection.

The following factors are determined exceptionally in obedience to the Constitution of Ukraine:

• bases of social defence, forms and types of the pension coverage; fundamental regulations of labor and employment, marriage, family, childhood care, maternity, paternity; upbringing, education, culture and health protection; ecological safety;
• bases of formation and activity of political parties, other associations of citizens, mass media;

In accordance with the law of Ukraine the State budget of Ukraine and budgetary system of Ukraine, the system of taxation, taxes and collections are established.
